A native Bostonian, Cifrino has managed to stay below the radar…until now. His reputation among the “who’s who” of the east coast is increasingly evident. Cifrino’s attention to detail, superb inventive style and hands-on approach – is part of the formula for an event for the ages. Vast capabilities and resources can bring nearly any client’s event vision to life. Impeccable taste helps please high profile clients, keeping them in the lap of luxury. But Cifrino also brings along a breath of humanity. Never the stiff official in the background, he can often be found mingling among guests, using his effervescent personality to set the evening’s tone. The cultured confidence of his services has brought Cifrino all over the country and islands.
Cifrino began his career in Boston at Urban Tropical Plants Inc. – a tropical plant and custom floral business. At the same time, he studied landscape architecture creating beautiful gardens and landscapes. Cifrino then took his talents to Exhibit Group-Giltspur (now GES) working across the country with corporate clients providing experiential event services. Eventually, he turned his passion into a business, opening Clare Frances Events in 2010. His mission: Event planning and production for A-list clients. This event planner’s dream: to make gatherings about more than just a big-name venue – Cifrino began creating breathtaking, memorable weddings for New York’s high society. Feeding off the energy from successful New York City wedding events, Cifrino swears by his commitment to personally make each event fresh and exciting. “Energy is a big part of my success and somehow no one focuses on that. There’s a formula involved and I am consistently trying to improve it.”
Today, the bulk of Cifrino’s event planning and design consists of dream weddings up and down the east coast, destination weddings, corporate galas and luxury private events. “I want to give my client an event that’s something different, something smart.”
Kicking off Cifrino’s 2016 private events work includes weddings in Vermont, The Hamptons, Manhattan, Boston and The Bahamas. Riding the success of his events’ successes, Cifrino has plans to open a New York office to handle luxury social events. “I am an event planner who listens to my client’s wishes very carefully.”
After successfully executing hundreds of events, he has mastered the art of crafting an unforgettable, unique experience. His ability to quickly design and smoothly produce events without neglecting attention to detail is second to none.
World inspired vision, intriguing event planning – Michael Cifrino & Clare Frances Events is your event’s best partner.
“Great companies don’t hire skilled people and motivate them, they hire already motivated people and inspire them. People are either motivated or they are not. Unless you give motivated people something to believe in, something bigger than their job to work toward, they will motivate themselves to find a new job and you’ll be stuck with whoever’s left.”

Clare Frances Events & Zero Waste Practice
Clare Frances Events goal is to make every effort to be ethical, economical, efficient and visionary at our events to emulate sustainable natural cycles by using as many materials possible so that when discarded are designed to become resources for others to use.
What is Zero waste? The Zero Waste International Alliance states: “Zero Waste is a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices to emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all discarded materials are designed to become resources for others to use.”
Zero waste events are more common than ever with all types of venues and events working to be zero waste. If you have not yet chosen your venue, consider that some event locations can help to make zero waste planning easier. Venues that have experience in reducing waste or other sustainability practices will already have some of the key components in place, including sorting/collection containers and contracts with a hauler to take compostable materials following the event.
Food waste, Décor and paper are all contributors to our landfills, and most event planners don’t consider recycling or producing a zero-waste event because of the work and effort involved. At Clare Frances Events we don’t work any other way.
After we explain to our clients how we save our natural resources almost all of our clients request that we do whatever we can to produce a zero-waste event. We have been able to say that 99% of everything Clare Frances Events is responsible for at our events is composted or recycled. We add sustainability in all aspects of planning and estimating.
We talk to the caterers, bar service companies, floral companies, musicians, furniture rental companies and venue management upfront to request that their prices include zero-waste services. On the day of your wedding, we have a designated zero waste leader responsible to set-up recovery stations for all vendors. The zero waste leader monitors the recovery stations throughout the event. The zero waste leader is constantly monitoring/re-sorting containers during the event in case someone throws the wrong item in a container, the next 50 people will not do the same. We are realistic and know that not all companies we partner with operate their businesses with zero-waste. At Clare Frances Events we strive to find partners who are willing to work with us as best as possible without misleading us on their business practices. Organic does not necessarily mean zero-waste.
The main benefits of organizing an event with a zero waste goal is the satisfaction of doing the right thing for the planet and our future. While no event company can say that they are 100% zero-waste Clare Frances Events can say that they are leading the industry toward zero-waste events.
